➡️Kanban The Right Way: A Mini-series

Hey Reader,

In the past year or so, a lot of teams decided that “scrum is not for us”, whatever that means and quickly decide they are “more of a kanban team”. These are true words I’ve seen used all the time.

And what’s surprising? So many team coaches seem to be latching on this is and now everybody is rushing for more kanban courses and whatnot.

While it’s no secret that many teams feel disillusioned with Scrum and are eager to explore the benefits of Kanban, there’s a catch – Kanban is more than just a board; it's a strategic approach that requires attention to its values and principles for maximum effectiveness.

When people get stuck into boards and post-its, yet again they will continue to feel like they can’t make progress towards more agility and effectiveness.

I love Kanban but if you are considering using it with your teams, keep in mind Common Misconceptions about Kanban:

  • Mistaking Kanban as a simple replacement for Scrum without understanding its underlying principles.
  • Believing that implementing Kanban is a quick fix for all workflow issues, without considering the need for cultural and mindset shifts.

Kanban is not an all or nothing approach, though. But if you want yo Kanban work for you, I've created a quick guide with 5 simple ideas for you to start hacking into your system for effectiveness.

Now, if you're feeling like your recent foray into Kanban hasn't yielded the results you hoped for, it might be time to take a step back and start on the right foot.

Have you ever heard of STATIK? It's the key to using Kanban the right way and achieving the results you've been longing for.

And more importantly: if you constantly hear about systems thinking and don't get much of a clue of what it truly means, STATIK will help you understand it in practice.

In the last two weeks I’ve published the exclusive mini-series on Kanban, where we delve deep into the principles, practices of Kanban, and the STATIK method that will transform the way you work. These aren't your average "how-to" guides; I'm challenging you to think beyond the obvious and uncover the true potential of Kanban for your teams.

And mark your calendars for Thursday, when I'll be sharing where Kanban shines and the best places to use it.

Don't miss out!

Hey Reader, In the past months I’ve been running a lot of workshops live and in person and I had forgotten how exciting and fun they can be. They can also be tiring, both for the facilitators and the participants. I will not geek out today on the chemical and neurological reasons why, but everybody gets performance anxiety, people seem more afraid to talk, the engine starts slower than online. So today I’m going to share some 7 tips to facilitating better workshops plus a bonus one because...

Hey Reader, Have you ever noticed how some (a-hem, maybe few) agile change seems to take off like a rocket, while others (mostly) struggle to get off the ground? As someone who's passionate about helping teams thrive in an ever-changing world, I've spent a lot of time thinking about what makes agile change tick. And I've come to a realization: the success of agile change depends on understanding the hidden patterns that drive human behavior. One of these patterns is the need for meaningful...

Hey Reader, What if all the excessive communication at the office were to be eliminated? Imagine you could get away from the tyranny of collaboration as if doing stuff together worked all the time, especially now in the era of AI, distributed teams and systems? There ACTUALLY is a way for that and it’s simple. If you deal with teams that are remote or distributed, the “hybrid” mode must actually be “remote-first”. Basically, it means that: 1️⃣ we focus on asynchronous communication most of...
